Twelve people were taken to the hospital for treatment, with emergency officials saying they suffered breathing problems and other minor symptoms, after a passenger opened an emergency door on a plane shortly before it landed.

The South Korean plane, with 194 people on board, was heading to the southeastern city of Daegu from the southern island of Jeju.
