Nigerian presidential candidate Peter Obi has vowed to rid Africa’s most populous nation of endemic corruption and widespread insecurity if he wins the upcoming election.

Recent polls have shown Mr Obi coming from nowhere to lead the crowded field, ahead of the ruling party’s candidate Bola Tinubu.

His supporters say if he wins it will show Nigeria’s democracy is in good shape in the world’s first big election of 2023.
