A woman has died after a collision between two cars which caused a vehicle to end up on a railway track.

The crash involving a Range Rover and a Tesla happened on the A40 westbound near Park Royal tube station in west London at 3.48am on Monday.

A female occupant of the Range Rover died at the scene.

A man and woman who were also in the car were taken to hospital and police said they are awaiting updates on their conditions.

A female occupant of the Tesla was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The A40 has been closed with cordons put in place, and the Piccadilly line has been part suspended between Acton Town and Uxbridge.

Commuters have been advised to avoid travelling on these routes.

Witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call 101, ref 905/22aug.
